Kulubrite® — Calcium Carbonate Series

A family of engineered calcium carbonate grades optimised for coatings, plastics, paper, adhesives and general industrial use. Available in ultra-fine to coarse particle size distributions and in bulk or bagged formats.

Overview

Kulubrite® grades are high-quality calcium carbonate products designed to deliver consistent optical, rheological and mechanical performance. The series covers ultra-fine (sub-micron) to coarse grades to match formulator requirements such as opacity, scrub resistance, rheology control and cost-in-use.

Typical Properties (for specification guidance)

Analytical attributes to request:
  • D50, D10, D90 (particle size distribution)
  • Loss on Ignition (LOI)
  • Whiteness / Reflectance (TAPPI or CIE values)
  • Bulk density (loose & tapped)
  • Oil absorption (g/100 g)
  • pH (aqueous slurry)
  • Surface treatment (coated / uncoated)

Values above are analytical attributes commonly supplied on a technical datasheet. Exact numbers depend on batch and grade — ask sales for the current TDS and test certificates.

Quality & Compliance

Food-grade and speciality grades are available (e.g., Rossbake 50 is a known food-grade calcium carbonate). Certificates of analysis (CoA), MSDS and compliance documentation are provided on request.

Applications

  • Architectural & Industrial Coatings: Opacity, pigment volume concentration control, scrub resistance and rheology modification.
  • Plastics & Compounding: Filler loading for stiffness, dimensional stability and cost reduction.
  • Paper & Board: Brightness and opacity improvements, retention aids.
  • Adhesives & Sealants: Rheology control and cost-in-use benefits.
  • Construction Products: Texture finishes, plasters, mortars and cementitious systems.

Packaging & Handling

Standard packaging options: 25 kg multi-wall paper bags, 500–1000 kg bulk bags (FIBC), and loose bulk deliveries by agreement. Store in a dry, ventilated area. Avoid inhalation of dust — consult the MSDS for respiratory protection and handling guidelines.
